I had the privilege of attending a workshop with bestselling author Candace Havens this past weekend. Now, I could listen to Texas girls talk all day…love that drawl! In addition to having a melodic accent, Candace is smart, funny, and knows her stuff. I learned a lot from our day together. Last week I did something I've never done before. I took a pair of boots to a shop to have them repaired. They weren't terribly expensive boots and there wasn't anything really special about them. I've had them for years so I can certainly say I got my money's worth. But I like them a lot. They fit well, they look decent, they have just the right amount of heel, and they're good for riding on the motorcycle. And, I'm one of those odd women who don't really like to shop for clothes and shoes. Also, I'm paying more attention to what I discard these days. There is far too much going into the landfills. So here are before and after pictures of the boots. Aren't they beautiful?  I haven't worn them yet so I can't yet give a full thumbs up to the cobbler…are they called cobblers now? It's nice to know I did one small thing to help keep the Earth cleaner. Now if I can just remember to put out my recycle on a regular basis…
