All alone in the back alley of a bar is not where Adam wants to be on Christmas Eve. His cigarette break is interrupted by gunfire and the appearance of a gorgeous fire sprite, Fiona. When he touches her, tempting visions come to his mind and suddenly, the holidays look much brighter. I wanted to write a prequel to my Adventures of Star Lite series. This is Adam, (my favorite magic man) when he's in college. He's alone on Christmas and not real happy about the situation. When danger arrives in the form of a sexy, sassy woman, Adam comes to her rescue. Well, he tries. Oooo, I just snuck in at the last minute on this one. How can it be Saturday already? Time flies so fast during the holiday season. For this Sexy Saturday, I tried to think of something to tie in with Thanksgiving and decided I was thankful for the freedom to write whatever I please, even if it's naughty sometimes. There's plenty wrong with this country (and believe me, I gripe about it all the time), but there's also plenty that's good. I'm happy and grateful to be living here. Enjoy these seven sentences from Into the Magic, then hop on over to the next name on the list. “I really should go.” His voice, thick with desire, contradicted his words. She moved her body closer to his, her breasts and stomach touching him, absorbing his warmth. The sheer fabric may as well not have been there. Rubbing her torso slowly on his, she reached around his waist, pulling their bodies tight together. “Damn, you feel good, I could spend hours doing this,” he whispered in her ear. “So, let’s.” ***************** Into the Magic buy links: Amazon Totally Bound All Romance Kobo Barnes and Noble I'm at that sad part when reading a series. I'm starting the last book and the next one won't be out for months. Wah! I want it now! Okay, I guess I can wait until March. I've really enjoyed The Mercy Thompson stories and since it's an older series, I've been able to binge read all the books in a row. Biblio-gluttony! Happily for me, Patricia Briggs has written other tales so I will continue to enjoy her writing while I wait. As I'm doing research for a werewolf series I'm writing, I've read werewolf stories by many authors and Ms. Briggs Mercy Thompson tales are among my favorite. The characters are engaging and the plots are interesting and fairly plausible. If you believe in that whole paranormal thing, which of course I do! Though the Mercy Thompson series is classified as urban fantasy, there's enough of a love story and sexual tension going on in all the books to give romance lovers a good fix, in my own humble opinion. Start with the first one, Moon Called and go from there. It's hard for me to say if these could be stand-alone, since I've read them in order, like I always try to do with a series. I like Mercy because she's a reluctant heroine, taking on various bad guys who start to appear in her life. She doesn't whine and snivel, even though she wants her world to return to normal. We all have to deal with changes and sometimes, life never goes back to the way it was. In Mercy's case, she gets a few nice perks from all the weirdness, like a delicious hunk of werewolf man to be her mate. One thing I especially enjoy about this series is the cover. The model seems to have changed with the later books, but I like the woman's look on every one. Speaking of covers, mine is up for best of the month at The Talent Cave Reviews so if you have a moment, please vote for Out of the Ordinary. http://thetalentcavereviews.weebly.com/ I wish I could say I designed this lovely picture, but a talented artist at Totally Bound did. Happy reading and thanks for voting! One of the best things about the Die Hard movies is, you always know what you're getting. Over the top, ridiculously wild action. The car chase scene alone in this one kept my heart pounding for a good five minutes. I wonder if I can count that as an exercise workout? The bromance part of this movie is between John McClane and his son. They meet, unexpectedly for his son Jack, and things don't go well. They're both pissed at each other and I kept hoping we would find out why since I didn't remember the last movie but it wasn't mentioned. Of course, as the story unfolds, they manage to reconcile. There are several good moments in the movie where we can see father and son are a lot alike. Though they both have different ideas on how to fight crime, each method has its merits and the two men eventually decide neither way is the best all the time. It's good to compromise. Hey, maybe our government needs to view this flick. It's fun to watch an older Bruce Willis go through the danger and mayhem that make up these movies. He's still a good looking bad ass! Speaking of that, pay close attention to a scene at the end when we learn a secret about Yuri. He does this kind of growl thing that sent a shiver down my spine. Delightfully wicked! This fifth movie isn't the best of the series, but bad guys are killed, there are plot twists galore and the good guys end up winning. It is indeed a good day. Buy it at Amazon or rent on Netflix. Today's seven sentences are from a part of my book Awaken the Fire, when Adam is deciding if he should take an offer that would give him a vast amount of power. So tempting! But he would have to give up the woman he had grown to love. Ah, the seduction of power! Enjoy this excerpt and hop on over to the next author for another dose of Sexy Saturday. She had become an important part of his life, a part he wanted to keep. But did he want it enough? Could he give up what was being offered to him? His life would be like it was before, when he and Lucas used to run together. No, it would be better! He would have the thrill of danger he craved, the pleasure of bedding any woman he desired and the pure joy of using his magic whenever he pleased. He could test his limits and find out exactly what he was capable of, with no need to worry about punishment. What, I ask, is sweeter than cookies? For those of you ready to dive into the upcoming holidays and get your Betty Crocker on, here's a great idea to make cookies fun. I can only imagine the different ways these gingerbread men and women could be decorated, and some of my ideas are pretty wild, let me tell you! I haven't got the kit yet but it's on my list. If you make these awesome goodies, please send me a picture and let me know how they come out. You can buy this at Amazon and other online stores. Happy baking! |
