Netflix knows what I want. They even make suggestions for me, in case I don't have time to go trolling through their library. Which I don't. I probably would not have stumbled on this cute little series if they hadn't popped it up on my screen. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is from "30 Rock" executive producers Tina Fey and Robert Carlock and I love Tina Fey, so I decided to give it a try. Hilarious! Kimmy has been kept in an underground bunker for fifteen years by a cult leader and is now on her own in New York. You have to really stretch your imagination to get past all the obvious issues with this plot but go ahead, stretch it. You'll be glad you did. The jokes come fast so pay attention to each line. Lots of bizarre characters with an abundance of problems. Kimmy, of course, is the best, with her sunshiny attitude and unique problem-solving skills. Did I say unique? Try totally wacked out. Yet the show doesn't slide into the ridiculous zone, maybe because Kimmy is just so sweet and earnest, we truly want her to succeed, no matter what she has to do. This show is my Skittles for the brain, a nice dose of feel-good candy. Hope there's a season two planned. Thanks for watching out for me, Netflix! And maybe I'll even get me a Females are Strong as Hell t-shirt to support Kimmy and her crew.
