![]() Thanks to the suggestion of the delightful Lisabet Sarai, I watched the movie Fur this weekend. I'm not a big fan of fur coats, since making one involves mistreating and killing animals. The movie, Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus, has plenty of animal- skin coats on display, as that was the style at the time and is a part of the movie. Once you move past that, the film is excellent. Not a biography, this movie is a fictional account of photographer Diane Arbus, who was known for her strange, disturbing images. When we meet her, Ms. Arbus is having some issues in her life, and the arrival of a stranger moving in upstairs spurs her to make changes. Several things make this film a treat. The music is heavenly (I just ordered the soundtrack from Amazon. I'm a sucker for unusual music). The set design is stunning and bizarre. I'm also a sucker for big, old building with lots of nooks and crannies. (I did not just order one of those.) Most delightful, however, is the sweet, sensual relationship between Nicole Kidman (Arbus) and Robert Downy Jr., her new neighbor, who has issues of his own. Downy Jr. has the most beautiful, expressive eyes, and we get to see them a lot in this movie. Pay attention to his voice, too, and see if you don't feel your panties melting off. I'm not going to tell you anymore, lest I ruin it for you. Rent the film from Netflix, but first, enjoy this exceptional You Tube video, put together by SweetenThekitty96. Scenes from Fur start at about 2:40.

I have not heard of this movie, but it sounds interesting. Besides, I like both of those actors too. :)
