It's that time of year again in Florida; lovebug season. You can read all about these pesky critters here at Wikipedia. What they basically do is, mate. While flying. All the time. According to Wikipedia, "During and after mating, adult pairs remain coupled, even in flight, for up to several days." Wow, you have to admire that kind of dedication.
So, we have a bunch of horny insects milling around, dirtying up our cars. Here are some pictures of my vehicle after a ride down the highway. Car wash businesses are delighted, because we have to visit them frequently. If we don't wash the bugs off right away they can corrode the paint. One of the many oddities about living in the sub-tropics. Oh yes, that last picture is what I see out my window on the ride to work every day. I guess that's why I stay here and put up with the weird wildlife!
