One of my biggest pet peeves is littering. This picture is from a park where I feed my feral cats. Look at that pile of garbage by the trash can. Trash can. Right. There. Grrrrr! My brother suggested a bear got into the can and tipped it over (the can pivots on the wood posts), but since we don't have bears in this part of Florida, I think not. Maybe the can did tip, but I believe a human was involved, and if so, they should have put the trash back in. Another peeve, people who stand during a concert. I like to get on my feet when the band plays a rockin' song or two at the end, but standing for the whole show - bad manners. I just went to a concert where a man was standing, playing his air guitar, and annoying everyone around him for most of the show. I wanted to yell, "Hey dude. Sit down. You're not the only one here and you're blocking the view of the people behind you who don't want to, or can't stand the whole time. Like that lady in the wheelchair." My buddy suggested popping him with a stun gun. Since I'm a writer, I got a great visual image of how that would play out, and now I have to work that into a book. But you'll be happy to know, we did not zap the rude dude, and stayed out of jail for the evening. Speaking of behaving (or misbehaving), join me and a bunch of other romance writers as we go wild. One of my pet peeves is pussy people, the ones that cut in front of you in line or rush past and knock into You without so much as an I'm sorry.

I absolutely can't stand when people say endearments in a condescending or patronizing way. There are people who call everyone sweetie or honey but there are those who use them to act like they are smart or better than you. It is like nails on a chalkboard even if it's not geared towards me, I just hate it!

I hate it when people assume they are smarter than me. There is a whole branch of my family tree filled with people who treat me like I'm an idiot. I'm actually fairly intelligent, and really resent being treated like I can't find my way out of a paper bag.

My pet peeve is when I take my mother in her wheelchair and people who use handicapped parking without having plates or placard.

My pet peeve is the inappropriate use of cell phones, when to use them and where. I was at a memorial service once and the lady in front of me was on hers the whole time. Really you are there to pay your respects put your cell away.

My pet peeve is when one lane of traffic is merging into another, and there's always that one driver who ignores all the traffic signs warning that his/her lane is ending—so the driver ends up driving in the ending lane to the point where the lanes merge, and he/she cuts off an entire line of cars whose drivers did read the signs.

Telemarketers at all hours, including Sunday, multiple times a day. I've been threatened by the IRS, arrest if I don't return their call, free vacations, threatened to be arrested if I didn't respond to a civil penalty that my local police department assured me was a hoax, repair for my ailing computer...yadda yadda yadda.
